The Allegra Chamber Orchestra is an all female-identifying professional orchestra with a mandate of social action through music. All of Allegra’s artistic ventures bring musical and practical elements together to create healing and understanding in our communities, through the organic interaction between the arts and society.

VANCOUVER, CANADA - A fearless and moving documentary feature film, Dear Lara, from director and world-renowned violinist Lara St. John, makes its Vancouver premiere at the Cinematheque on June 7, 2026 - 2:00 pm. Dear Lara is a deeply personal documentary that exposes decades of sexual abuse and institutional complicity in the classical music world.
We acknowledge that we are living, working, and creating on the unceded territories of Indigenous Nations coast to coast. We thank them for having cared for these lands and waters with wisdom and mindfulness, and we extend this gratitude to all First Nations, Inuit and Metis Nations across Turtle Island.
